Dr. Daniele Miranda is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at University of Notre Dame.

Daniele is a biologist whose research focuses on organic contaminants in wildlife and abiotic matrices along with how environmental processes drive contaminant pathways. She holds a Ph.D. in Ecology (lines of research: ecotoxicology and biomonitoring) from the Federal University of Bahia, in Brazil (2021). She also interned at Stockholm University, in Sweden, where she developed research focusing on the degradation, dispersion, and biomagnification of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in tropical environments.

Dr. Miranda joined ND-ECI as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in April 2021 and will be working on several projects focused on the bioaccumulation of PFAS in fish from the Great Lakes and also the biomagnification of those compounds under the mentorship of Dr. Graham Peaslee and Dr. Gary Lamberti
